The third annual Black River Kayak-A-Thon will be held on September 28th, 2013. Registration will open at 7:30AM at the French Creek Reservation Boat Launch. This event will include competitive races as well as a casual float for those who want to take their time and view the restoration projects. This event is being held to encourage recreation on the Black River and celebrate the restoration efforts that are underway along the river. Representatives from the project team will be on hand to provide you with more information about the Black River restoration effort and to answer any questions you may have.

  • Registration materials (form, waiver, and fee) must be completed and brought with you the morning of the event.
  • Registration fees are $25 for competitive races and $5 for the casual float. Make checks payable to The Black River Kayak-A-Thon.
  • Please read the registration information thoroughly! See the Registration Form & Information link.
  • T-Shirts (white) with the green Kayak-A-Thon logo will be available for purchase for $10.

Competitive Races:

• 11.8-Mile Long Race (2 Classes)
• 4.6-Mile Short Race (4 Classes)
• Prizes to the Top 3 places
• Paddleboard Raffle for all Racers
• Prizes awarded at Jackalope Lakeside at 3:30PM
• Complimentary Safety Whistle
• Complimentary entry to after party at Jackalope Lakeside

Casual Float:

• 3.8-Mile course
• Five stops along course to collect "Tokens" for Prizes
• Paddleboard Raffle for all Participants
• Prizes awarded at Jackalope Lakeside at 4:30PM
• Complimentary Safety Whistle
• Complimentary entry to after party at Jackalope Lakeside
