THE SECOND ANNUAL BLACK RIVER KAYAK-A-THON
 
June 23, 2012 (before the Lorain International Festival)
The second annual Black River Kayak-A-Thon will be held on June 23rd, 2012 before the Lorain International Festival. This event will include competitive races as well as a casual float for those who want to take their time and view the restoration projects. This event is being held to encourage recreation on the Black River and celebrate the restoration efforts that are underway along the river. Representatives from the project team will be on hand to provide you with more information about the Black River restoration effort and to answer any questions you may have.

  • Registration materials (form, waiver, and fee) must be post-marked by June 1, 2012 to receive discounted rates ($25 for competitive races and $5 for the casual float)
  • Registrations will also be accepted on the morning of the event, at the put-in ($30 for competitive races and $7 for the casual float)
  • Please read the registration information thoroughly! See the Registration Form & Information link.
  • T-Shirts (white) with the blue Kayak-a-thon logo are available for purchase.

• 11.8-Mile Long Race (1 Class)
• 4.6-Mile Short Race (4 Classes)

Casual Float:

• Five stops along course to collect "Tokens" for Prizes
